YAYLADÜZÜ VILLAGE HASAN KOYUN HOUSE

The residence is located in the village of Yayladüzü, which is within the borders of Gercüş district of Batman province. Yayladüzü village is located 30km south of Batman by bird flight and 23km northwest of Gercüş district center.

The structure, which is arranged as two floors by stepping on a rocky and sloping ground, is in the "L" plan type. The building, which rises on a masonry stone wall, is supported by wooden beams and is covered with a flat earthen roof. The connection between the floors is provided by the stone-stepped stairs located on the south side of the building and continuing up to the second floor (Picture 1). (Picture 2)

The northern part of the building, which consists of two parts; It was arranged in a rectangular plan and two storeys in east-west direction. In the building where there is only one space on both floors, the ground floor is used as a barn; It has a rectangular plan and is covered with a barrel vault (Picture 3). (Picture 4)

The entrance to the second floor is provided by the round-arched rectangular door opening on the south façade. The wooden beamed, earthen flat roof of the rectangular planned space in the east-west direction is in ruins today (Picture 5).

While there is no ornamental element on the exterior of the building, which uses smooth cut stone, rubble stone and cas mortar as the main construction material, the interior is animated with round, flat and sliced ​​arched niches. There are geometric motifs on the round arched niche on the north wall, and dendan motifs and grooved motifs made with scraping technique on the pediment of the eyebrow arched niches (Picture 6).
