The illustrated rock shelter no. 1 is located in the Arık (Dera Ser) hamlet of Bağözü village in the Gercüş district of Batman province, in a location called "Berha Şambez" in the region. Bağözü village is located 81 km south of Batman city center and 22 km southwest of Gercüş district centre.

The figures were carved into a natural rock shelter of 3.87m high, 3.75m deep and 19.00m wide, which was formed naturally in the limestone rock. Among the figures processed are mountain goat, human figures and other animal figures that have become obscure due to destruction. These figures are stylized. These figures inside the natural rock shelter are in danger of destruction due to the peeling of the crust of the main rock and destruction.
