YEŞİLOBA VILLAGE HOLIKÊ ROCK HOUSING

The rock dwellings are located in the rocky area known as Holıkê by the local people, 2km northeast of Yeşiloba (Derdvin) village within the borders of Beşiri district of Batman province. Yeşiloba village is located 24 km east of Batman city center and 1 km northeast of Beşiri town centre.
Approximately 30 rock dwellings were identified during the studies carried out in the area. Today, some of the houses used as animal shelters are single-spaced and some are complex rock houses. There are hearth niches, sitting platforms, lighting windows, animal feeders, animal tethering places and niches in the rock dwellings.
