The monastery is located on the summit of the mountain, 1.40 km southwest of Yalınkavak village, which is 30 km east of Batman city center and 17 km southeast of Beşiri town centre.

The monastery, which spread over a wide area, has survived to the present day in ruins almost to its foundation level. From the remaining traces, four parts of the building could be identified. However, the plan and architectural features of the building, which is under the rubble piles, cannot be understood. It is understood from the ruins found in the area that basalt stone and cas mortar were used in the construction of the monastery. In addition, very few ceramic pieces were found around the building.
