The church, which has a small-scale simple plan, was built on the slope of the second valley, approximately 1 km away from the road that reaches Karaköy from the valley southeast of Hasankeyf Castle.

prof. Dr. With the Hasankeyf Archaeological Excavations conducted in 2005 under the chairmanship of Abdüsselam ULUÇAM, its plan and architectural features were revealed. It has a simple plan feature with a semicircular plan, a single apse, extending in the east-west direction and the main space consisting of a narthex and a single nave. The apse of the church is semi-domed. There are two interconnected spaces on the right side of the building entrance. The upper cover and upper parts of the walls of the structure covered with cradle vaults were completely destroyed. It was observed that two small sections were added to the south of the building in later periods.

In the architecture, cut limestone was used in the corners of the walls and in the door and window openings, and rubble stone fixed with cas mortar was used in the other masonry. The floor of the church was paved with stone and the vault cover was covered with tiles from the outside.
