The mill is located 450m northwest of Akyar village. Akyar village is located within the borders of Gercüş district of Batman province. The village is located 40km southeast of Batman center and 10.70km northeast of Gercüş district center (Picture 1).

The mill consists of a grinding chamber, a water tower and a water trough. It is provided to the mill through the rectangular shaped entrance with a concrete lintel on the west façade. The mill has a rectangular plan and its top cover is made in the form of a barrel vault from the inside and a flat roof from the outside. The grinding area of ​​the mill is located in the north. There is one crenellated window on the northwest wall of the grinding room. There are grinding stones of the mill near the southeast wall of the grinding room (Picture 2). The mechanism that makes the grinding stones work is under the grinding stones, and the water system that operates this mechanism is located behind the north wall of the mill. The water tower of the mill is located to the northeast of the mill. Water is carried to the water tower by a 21m long channel (Picture 3). The mill was built using cut stone and cas mortar. Today, the water mill, which has lost its function, does not see any use.
