Located in the southern part of Hasankeyf Citadel, there is a large-scale, rectangular-planned water tank carved into the bedrock in order to meet the water needs of the city, and water channels carved into the rock connected to it.
The water at a depth of 200 meters coming from the plateaus in Karaköy and Uzundere villages, which are about 15 kilometers away from the south and southwest of Hasankeyf ancient city center, through channels carved into the rocks, is then brought up to the hill where the castle is located, using the principle of siphon and compound vessels. Although this system has deteriorated from place to place, most of it still remains intact.
