YUKARI UMURLU VILLAGE CISTERN

The cistern is located in a rocky area 600 m southwest of the village of Yukarı Umurlu (TağaJore) in the Sason district of Batman province. Yukari Umurlu village is located 57km northeast of Batman province and 17km west of Sason town centre.
The cistern with a narrow mouth, cylindrical body, expanding from the inner part to the bottom, was made by carving the main rock, its mouth diameter is 0.70 m and its current depth is 1.60 m. The cistern, which was filled with rubble and earth, lost its function. There is destruction in the cistern, which is not used today.
