WATER COLLECTION TANK TO THE EAST OF KUMLUCA VILLAGE

Kumluca (Mirdese) village is located 21.45km southeast of Batman and 13.39km northwest of Hasankeyf. The old waterways, cisterns, silos and rock dwellings carved into the bedrock within the village borders indicate that there was an old settlement here. A large water collection reservoir was observed in the rocky area to the east of the village.
The entrance of this water collection reservoir, fed from the water trough in the east of the village, faces west. The cistern, which has a rectangular plan close to a square, measures approximately 4.00x5.00m. Its height is unknown as it is filled with water today.
