HÜSEYNİKE ROCK AREA SETTLEMENT

Hüseynike rocky area settlement is located 4 km west of Yolağzı village, which is within the borders of Gercüş district of Batman province. Yolağzı village is located 45km southeast of Batman center and 5.65km southwest of Gercüş district center (Picture 1).
The residential area covers an area measuring approximately 50 m north – south and 60 m east – west. The Hüseynike settlement area consists of a workshop built on the bedrock, 6 rock dwellings and the remains of structures built of irregular stones at the foot of the hill (Picture 2). Workshops and cisterns in the workshop area also draw attention (Picture 3-4).
