The illustrated rock shelter is located in the area known as “Köyiçi” locality in the region within the borders of Arık (Dera Ser) hamlet of Bağözü village of Gercüş district of Batman province. Bağözü village is located 81 km south of Batman city center and 22 km southwest of Gercüş district centre.
The shelter where the figures are located consists of limestone rock and is located above the ground. There is no system of steps to reach the shelter. The figures were carved in the 17.50m wide, 2.70m deep bunker. Among the engraved figures, there are figures of a mountain goat and a human being made with the scraping technique, and a hunting scene(?). Some of these figures are presented independently of each other and some are given in a composition. Due to the rock structure, the figures have been destroyed and are in danger of extinction.
