The illustrated rock shelter is located in the Arık (Dera Ser) hamlet of Bağözü village, in the Gercüş district of Batman province, in a location called "Berha Yezidiya" in the region. Bağözü village is located 81 km south of Batman city center and 22 km southwest of Gercüş district centre.
The figures were carved in a 2.20m wide area on the south wall of the natural rock shelter which is 3.10m high, 13.00m deep and 14.30m wide, formed naturally in the limestone rock. The engraved figures were made at a height of 1.70 m from the floor of the shelter. Among the engraved figures, there are stylized mountain goat figures lined up in a herd. The natural rock shelter is used as an animal shelter today, and animal feeders were made by carving the south wall. The figures in the natural rock shelter are in danger of disappearing when the crust of the main rock is peeled off. In addition, most of the figures have disappeared due to the rock structure.
