ASMADERE MOUND

Asmadere Mound is located in the village of Asmadere (Hopê), located 700m north of Garzan Stream, 6.45km east of Beşiri district of Batman province. The village of Asmadere is located 32km east of Batman city centre, 14km southeast of it.
The exact boundaries of the mound could not be determined since the establishment of the modern village settlement on the mound caused a great deal of human destruction in the mound area. On the surface of the mound, a large number of pottery fragments were found, starting from the Early Chalcolithic Period and continuing until the Middle Ages.
