Gre Kelekê was founded on the conglomerate layer on the south bank of the Garzan Stream, in the Çaykenarı (Gre Kelekê) hamlet of Samanlı (Eska xwarê) village in the Beşiri district of Batman province. Samanlı village is located 27 km east of Batman city center and 13 km southeast of Beşiri town centre.
Since the mound area is used as agricultural land today, its boundaries could not be determined exactly. However, from the finds on the surface, it is thought that the mound spread over an area of 56m x 95m. There is a pool structure on the south slope of the mound, where very few ceramic finds were found on the slope parts, and a house belonging to the present day on the southwest slope.
