Şeyh Çoban Mound is located 10.50 km from the city center of Batman, in the town of Balpınar (Gresira) in the southwest. The mound is located 4.00 km southwest of Balpınar town and 0.90 km southwest of Şeyh Çoban Field.

On the mound, there is the Şeyh Çoban Tomb (named after this), which is a modern building remnant. In addition, there are several modern tombs around the tomb. The other architectural elements seen on the mound are the Khorasan crusader wall remains from the Medieval Period and the tombs made in the Islamic tradition of this period. In the observations made on the upper part and slopes of the mound, ceramics symbolizing the periods from the Early Bronze Age to the Middle Ages were encountered. In addition, glass bracelets possibly belonging to the Middle Ages are among the examples encountered.
