Kaya residences are located within the borders of Oymataş village of Batman city center. Oymataş village is located 22 km southwest of Batman center by bird flight.

During the studies carried out in the area, 34 rock dwellings were identified. Today, 16 of the houses used as animal shelters and warehouses are single-spaced and 18 of them are complex rock dwellings. The main entrances of the complex rock dwellings are simple rectangular. Complex rock dwellings consist of a front entrance room and 2 or 3 spaces. These spaces show oval-like square and rectangular plan features.

Single-space rock counties are generally square and rectangular in plan. The entrances of several residences are placed in an arched niche-like section carved into the bedrock. In some residences, there is a section at the entrance that we can call a corridor.

There are hearth niches, benches, lighting windows, animal feeders, animal mooring places and niches in the rock dwellings. There are natural and human destructions in general of the residences in the area.
