ATLIHAN HAMLET ROCK TOMB

Atlıhan hamlet is located 16.66km northwest of Hasankeyf, 8.75km southeast of Kantar Bridge, and 4.00km east of Akarca hamlet.

The entrance part of the rock tomb in the north has a square plan. There are three tombs with arcosolium (tomb cell with an arch on top) inside the rock-cut structure. The rock tomb is a typical Late Antiquity tomb and it is estimated that it was first built in the 3rd - 4th century. However, considering that such burial areas were also used in the Early Christian Period, 3-6. It is thought to have been used for centuries. Today it is used as a warehouse.
