DORUK VILLAGE ROCK TOMB NO. 1

The rock tomb no. 1 is located approximately 150 m northeast of Doruk village, in the Gercüş district of Batman province. Doruk Village is located 34.50 km south of Batman center and 20 km west of Gercüş district centre.
The tomb, which was carved into the bedrock, consists of 3 klines and the klines are arcosolium. Access to the rock tomb is provided through the arched entrance facing northeast. Since the entrance was destroyed, its borders are not completely clear (Picture 1). There is a cover place in front of the entrance to cover the front of the tomb. In addition, the entrance was made higher than the burial chamber. The burial chamber has a nearly square plan with ovalized edges. There are klines on the west, east and south walls of the burial chamber. The kline no. 1 is on the west wall of the burial chamber (Picture 2); The kline no. 2 is on the south wall of the burial chamber (Picture 3); Kline no. 3 is on the east wall of the burial chamber (Picture 4). The rock tomb has been damaged.
