There are two different cemetery areas in Hasankeyf Inner Castle, in the northeast of Talim Square and in the location called Yukarı Mahalle, in the southeast of the castle. The cemetery areas, including Şeyh Şerafeddin Tomb and Şehy Muhiyeddin Tomb, were established on a sloping and wide land.
In the cemetery areas, there are tombs with different types, forms and materials, as well as tombs with intact original stones, some of which were lost or formed by stones removed from other tombs. On the tombstones, inscriptions written in Arabic letters are the majority. The tombstones, most of which are made of limestone, have been exposed to natural conditions and especially human destruction. Since the people continued to live in the Inner Castle until the 1970s, burial continued in the cemetery areas here until recent years.
