Akalın village is located 13 km southeast of Hasankeyf district center in Batman province. The cemetery is located on a hill overlooking the surrounding area, approximately 1km southwest of the village of Akalın.

In the cemetery area, there are inscribed and regular tombs as well as tombs without any inscriptions or ornaments. There are Arabic inscriptions made with scraping and relief technique on the foot and head witness of the regular graves in the area. The borders of the graves were determined by covering the other graves with irregular stones; tombstones also consist of irregular stone blocks. There is a great deal of natural and human destruction in the area.
