The monastery is located in the Turnali hamlet of the Meşeli village, 12 km northeast of the Sason district of Batman province.

The monastery is located on the summit of the mountain, 1.40 km southwest of Yalınkavak village, which is 30 km east of Batman city center and 17 km southeast of Beşiri town centre.

Mor Kuryakos Monastery, located in Ayrancı village, 18 km from Beşiri town of Batman province, is located on the eastern slope of Kıra Mountain overlooking the Northern Mesopotamian plain, at the farthest point of the Turabdin region, which is considered sacred by Syriac Christians.

Stone houses reflecting traditional civil architecture were built on the monastery. Most of the stones belonging to the monastery were used as spolia in the construction of the houses in the village.
