DERELİ VILLAGE HOUSE NO. 1 (OWNER UNKNOWN)

House number 1 is located on a rocky and sloping area on the eastern slope of Dereli (Ezdara) village. Dereli village is located within the borders of Gercüş district of Batman province. The village is located 54 km southeast of Batman centre, 26 km northeast of Gercüş district centre.

The house, which is arranged in an “L” plan and two-storey in east-west direction, has a barrel vault and a flat roof covered with earth (Picture 1-2-3). The ground floor with a rectangular plan, oriented east-west and used as a barn and warehouse, consists of two spaces. Entrance to the spaces is provided by rectangular, stone lintel doors on the east and south (Picture 4). There are crenellated windows on the exterior facades of the spaces.

On the second floor, which is used as the main living space, there are two connected, rectangular-planned spaces. It consists of rectangular planned and barrel vaulted spaces (Picture 5). In the building, which is not used today, cut stone, rubble stone and cas mortar were used as materials.
