The illustrated rock shelter is located in the Arık (Dera Ser) hamlet of Bağözü village, in the Gercüş district of Batman province, in a location called Berha Kuştiya. Bağözü village is located 81 km south of Batman city center and 22 km southwest of Gercüş district centre.

Figures in the largely destroyed rock shelter are only found in the preserved western part of the rock shelter. The figures were made with the scraping technique and were carved into a natural rock shelter 2.90m high, 2.20m deep and 9.00m wide. There are human and obscure geometric motifs among the processed figures. The figures are rendered in a stylized manner. These figures in the natural rock shelter are in danger of being lost due to the peeling of the crust of the main rock.
