BALPINAR MOUND

Balpınar Mound is located just south of the town of Balpınar (Gresira) in Batman city centre.
The mound, 7km southwest of Batman city center, has a diameter of approximately 150m and is located 539m above the sea level. Today, the mound is used as the cemetery of the town. In addition, it is seen that the destruction is quite intense due to too much afforestation in the area.
Ceramics symbolizing the periods from the Late Neolithic Age to the Middle Ages were found in the area. In addition, large stone vessels called mortar, jamb stones, pressing stone, small amounts of flint and obsidian fragments were found.
