Gre Şavo is located on a rock that makes a nose just south of Garzan Stream, 500m east of Tepecik village in Beşiri district of Batman province. Tepecik village is located 29km east of Batman city center and 10km southeast of Beşiri town centre.

The mound area is spread over an area of approximately 125 x 100 m. A large number of large and small stones and ceramic fragments were observed scattered on the mound. The southern slope of the mound is surrounded by wire mesh and used as agricultural land. Among the pottery sherds observed on the surface, there are wares from the 3rd Millennium BC, Middle Iron Age, Assyrian wares and pieces dating to the Middle Ages.
