Yıldızlı Castle is located in the south of Yıldızlı village, which is within the borders of Kozluk district of Batman province. Yıldızlı village is located 10km south of Kozluk town center. Yıldızlı Castle was probably named after this village and it is located 12km south of Kozluk town. Yıldızlı Castle is located on a geographically “mesa” formation high hill overlooking the Garzan Stream, 745m above sea level.

The castle, which was built on a hill surrounded by natural cliffs on three sides, was built on an area measuring 275 meters in the east-west direction and 288 meters in the north-south direction, surrounding the hill on which it is located, with a topographic plan understanding. You can reach the castle by road from the west, and the river crosses to the east of the south. Since a possible attack could come in the west direction, it was observed that the fortification walls were kept higher and the wall thicknesses were thicker in this direction. Since the east, north and south of the castle are steep and high, the fortification walls were built by keeping the fortification weaker in these directions.

It has been determined that the entrance to the castle was made with a very monumental entrance opening from the west. Although the top cover system of the door has been completely destroyed, this entrance opening has been strengthened with support walls in the section up to half the height of the door from both sides.

Among the surviving structures of the castle, there are 3 bastions and places connected with bastions, which were built adjacent to the walls that continue in a disconnected way in the western direction of the castle. Another structure belonging to the castle is the remains of a north-south oriented wall in the southeast of the castle. Many ceramic finds were observed on the surface of the castle. Among the ceramics, there are green yellow glazed ceramics, turquoise blue glazed ceramics, dark green colored ceramics and incised decorated ceramics.

Brick, rubble stone, crushed stone materials were used in the construction of the castle and it was plastered with cas, which is frequently used in the region. Many traces of smugglers were found in the Yıldızlı castle and the structures that have survived to the present day have been severely damaged.
