YAMANLAR VILLAGE ASSYRIAN CEMETERY AREA

The cemetery is located on the northeastern slope of the Babeşe settlement area, 2.50 km east of the Yamanlar village of Gercüş district of Batman province. Yamanlar village is located 49 km southeast of Batman center and 7 km southeast of Gercüş district center.
The tombs were made of limestone found in the region. Most of the burial structures in the cemetery area have been destroyed, and the head and foot evidences are scattered (Picture 1). There are no inscriptions or decorations on the existing tombstones (Picture 2). There are no burials in this area today.
