The rock church is located approximately 350m east of Oymataş village, which is within the borders of Batman city center. Oymataş village is located 14 km southwest of Batman city center by bird flight.

The rock church with a single nave is located on a rocky area 3.00 m above the ground. There are six steps carved irregularly into the rock. These steps are in the north-south direction and connect to the entrance of the church. To the north of the entrance is an east-west oriented nave with a vaulted upper structure carved into the rock. The section up to the vault is in the form of an architrave with three fascia. Two representative steps were built to reach the bema located to the east of the nave. On the north and south of the steps, there are piers with very careful workmanship, and there are fascia and abacus on the upper part of these piers. To the east of the bema, there is the apse representing Jesus and the semi-domed area with its upper cover. Just to the north of the bema, there is a small niche possibly containing liturgical items. The section in the north is the cemetery area. The niche to the east of the north wall is either a children's grave, an area where relics are placed, or a place where liturgical items are placed. The niches on the west wall and the south wall must have been places where church items and oil lamps or oils were used to give fragrance. The niche on the west wall is 0.85 m high, 2.00 m wide and 0.26 m deep.
