TOPLUCA HAMLET CHURCH

The church is located in the village of Gürgenli, in the village of Buluca, within the borders of Sason district of Batman province. The hamlet of collectively is located 6.5 km northwest of the town of Sason by bird's flight. The church is located in the center of the village of Koleksiyona.

There is no inscription about the history of the church, which is called "Dera mitenk" by the local people. The church is placed on a rectangular area measuring 9.80 m in the east-west direction and 4.80 m in the north-south direction. The church has a single nave and rectangular plan. The narthex of the church is in the south and has a rectangular form. There is an apse section to the east of the church. This section is kept higher than the naos area of ​​the church. To the east of the bema is the apse, which does not protrude. There are 2 niches in the north and south of the apse. There is a round-arched window opening on the upper part of the apse. There is a round arched niche on the northern wall of the naos. There are 2 crenellated window openings on the west and south walls of the naos.

In addition, there are cross motifs made with scraping technique on the eastern façade of the church. The interior of the church, whose top cover is vaulted from the inside and with a flat roof from the outside, is plastered with “cas” mortar. Cut stone, rubble stone and cas mortar were used in the construction of the church. The church is well preserved today and is used as a barn. In general, there is partial destruction of the church.
